Bols is the world’s oldest distilled spirit brand, dating back to 1575, when the Bols family opened a small distillery in Amsterdam.
Charlotte and I were introduced to this fantastic brand while in Amsterdam last weekend, and instantly became a fan.
Genever can only be made in The Netherlands, since it is a protected spirit category, similar to the French Appellation D’origine Controlee.
Bols offers an extensive variety of liqueurs and flavors, one notable product is the Bols Foam. The Foam bottle transforms the liqueur inside into instant foam, which quite literally adds a new dimension to any cocktail, coffee or dessert.
